On the way to Fort Worth for NASCAR

We drove north from Katy to Fort Worth to go to the Nascar Sprint Cup race and on the way we stopped for a break in Waco TX. We found a sports bar/restaurant with approximately 120 beers, most of them on tap and the regular sports bar menu of hamburgers and fries. Graham drank a couple of Dogfish Head IPA and we are hamburgers and fries.

After lunch we walked down to the Brazos River and found this sculpture of a cowboy herding three longhorns.

The cowboy sculpture was on the grass at the entrance to a suspension bridge across the river. The bridge was built in 1870 as a privately own toll bridge.

The city of Waco has built a park with walking paths on both sides of the river. The river and the trees were very pretty in the fall sun.
